Role
The Staff Creative Technologist will partner with designers, researchers, and engineers to conceive, prototype, and validate novel interactions and motion-rich user experiences across web and native platforms. This role focuses on high-quality animation and polish, producing testable prototypes for usability studies and helping translate design intent into production-ready implementations. Location options include San Francisco, Mountain View, and New York. US base salary range: $178,000–$265,000 (plus bonus, equity, and benefits).
Key Responsibilities
- Conceive, build, and iterate engaging prototypes for research, validation, and product iteration.
- Collaborate closely with interaction and motion designers to define and realize a compelling interactive vision.
- Lead or contribute to key projects with a systems-thinking approach, advocating for user needs across platforms and applications.
- Identify emerging needs and contribute interaction design best practices and pattern documentation.
- Strategize and define approaches that optimize implementation of design intent and maintain high standards for polish and animation quality.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in front-end development on one or more platforms (web, iOS, Android), technical UX design, or prototyping.
- Experience with vibe coding tools, including AI Studio, Cursor, Antigravity, and Firebase Studio.
- Experience with one or more web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript.
- Experience in motion design related to physics, patterns, and visual design elements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Human–Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in technical leadership and managing projects across full tech stacks and in production environments.
- Experience developing with native iOS technologies (Swift) and Android.
- Experience collaborating with front-end engineering teams on native app user interfaces.
- Experience using hosted back-ends (e.g., Firebase, Supabase) to power prototypes.
