Role
Snyk is seeking a Staff Developer Advocate based in San Francisco to build and grow the AI Security developer community. The role centers on teaching developers about security pitfalls in vibe coding and AI-generated code, delivering workshops and demos, producing educational content, and acting as the local domain expert for Snyk’s AI Security platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver AI security workshops and hands-on sessions using demo applications and popular coding agents to demonstrate how to secure AI-generated code.
- Build demos and intentionally vulnerable applications/processes to illustrate AI security failures and how Snyk mitigates them.
- Produce high-quality written and video content: articles, tutorials, best practices, deep-dives, and demos.
- Strategize and execute local community engagement: meetups, hangouts, conferences, customer and prospect presentations.
- Track, measure, and report on content performance and DevRel KPIs and metrics.
- Serve as the in-house SF-based AI Security domain expert; provide user feedback to product teams and advise on community matters.
- Collaborate with regional marketing, content managers, and other internal teams to plan and execute developer engagement strategies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in developer relations, community engagement, or similar roles and leading active developer communities.
- Hands-on experience building applications, demos, and supporting engineering projects for workshops and talks.
- Experience producing educational content (video preferred) and presenting at events or conferences.
- Practical experience with AI coding agents, LLM-driven workflows, and AI-related technologies.
- Hands-on development experience in any language ecosystem and a well-rounded understanding of SDLC, cloud-native applications, and CI/CD practices; preferred experience in JavaScript, Java, Python, or Go.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage community-forward initiatives.

- Local role based in San Francisco (on-site presence in the geo region expected).
