We are hiring a Staff Engineer to set technical direction across front-end and back-end systems, shape architecture and performance, and drive AI-powered customer experiences. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires moving fluidly across the stack while mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical reference for squads and the broader engineering team; drive best practices for architecture, performance optimization, and accessibility.
- Lead solution design and architectural discussions, including decisions on frameworks, state management, component architecture, and design systems.
- Ensure code quality through reviews, mentorship, and delivery of maintainable, scalable code.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into timely, customer-facing solutions.
- Contribute to engineering strategy and vision with a focus on scalable distributed services and high-traffic web applications.
- Solve complex technical challenges and optimize systems for scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Mentor and develop team members; provide explicit mentoring of senior-level engineers.
- Leverage AI-native tools and approaches to improve development speed and product capabilities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of software engineering experience building and evolving complex, high-scale systems and customer-facing applications.
- Strong full-stack expertise.
- Frontend: JavaScript, TypeScript
- Backend: JavaScript, Java, Golang
- Significant experience with AWS-based cloud architecture environments.
- In-depth knowledge of modern software engineering practices, design patterns, and architectures.
- Experience designing high-traffic web applications and scalable distributed services.
- Experienced with AI-native productivity tools (examples listed in job description).
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated track record of mentoring senior engineers and delivering results.
- Willingness to code, review code, and take ownership of shipped systems.
