Explicitly requires vibe coding and AI-fluency to build operator-facing dashboards and tooling for rapid, developer-independent improvements.

About the Role

The Staff Process Engineer will own industrial engineering, process standardization, and facility layout across Veho’s warehouse network, acting as the bridge between Ground Operations and Product/Engineering. The role drives measurable productivity improvements, builds operator-facing tooling using AI and vibe coding, and leads network rollouts and continuous improvement efforts.

Job Description

Role

Staff Process Engineer (IC-4) responsible for owning industrial engineering fundamentals, process standardization, and facility layout across Veho’s warehouse network. Acts as the technical bridge between Ground Operations and Product/Engineering to ensure software and tools work in the physical warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Industrial Engineering & Standards: develop engineered labor standards, conduct time studies, set rates and productivity benchmarks, and build capacity models that translate volume forecasts into staffing and throughput requirements.
  • Process Design & Standardization: design, document, and standardize end-to-end warehouse workflows (sort, stow, stage, load, returns); create practical SOPs and playbooks and drive adoption across sites.
  • Facility Layout & Flow Optimization: design and optimize travel paths, staging/loading layouts, slotting strategies, and congestion reduction; translate throughput needs into layout recommendations and validate on the floor.
  • Bridge Between Ground Ops and Product/Tech: translate floor observations into structured product requirements, represent operator perspectives in product design, and partner on tech launches and pilots to ensure real-world execution.
  • Network Rollout & Operational Enablement: lead end-to-end rollout of process and tooling changes, define readiness criteria, training alignment, success metrics, go/no-go gates, and rollback plans; act as on-the-ground SME during launches.
  • AI Tooling & Vibe Coding: use AI tools and vibe coding to rapidly ship operator-facing dashboards, productivity monitors, and exception-handling tools without depending on developers.
  • Experimentation & Continuous Improvement: design and run structured experiments, partner with BI for instrumentation and defensible results, iterate quickly on improvements and document learnings.
  • MHE Integration Support: support material handling equipment (MHE) and automation integrations, own standard work and bypass procedures, and coordinate training for integrated systems.

Requirements

  • Direct experience working in warehouses, fulfillment centers, distribution networks, or manufacturing floors.
  • Strong industrial engineering and systems-thinking capabilities; ability to model throughput and quantify operational impacts.
  • AI-fluent and builder-minded: able to prototype and ship operator-facing tools using AI and vibe coding.
  • Credible operator partner: presence on the floor, practical SOP design, and stakeholder trust with Ground Ops.
  • Data-driven: experience with time studies, productivity benchmarking, defect trend analysis, and presenting quantitative findings.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar tools for facility layout design.

Preferred (but not required)

  • Experience with MHE or warehouse automation deployments (conveyors, sorters, scanning systems) and WMS/WCS integration.
  • Experience in ecommerce fulfillment, last-mile logistics, 3PL networks, or high-velocity manufacturing.
  • Experience operating in both startup and scaled organizations during rapid growth.
  • Relevant certifications such as Lean/Six Sigma, PMP, or equivalent industrial engineering credentials.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $175,000
  • Equity: Generous ownership package
  • Benefits: comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k)
  • PTO: Flexible paid time off policy
  • Location: Atlanta, GA; Dallas, TX; Philadelphia, PA; Chicago, IL
  • Relocation: No
  • Sponsorship: Veho is unable to provide sponsorship at this time.
