Airwallex is hiring a Staff Product Designer to lead design of AI-native, autonomous financial software, focusing on high-fidelity UI craft and end-to-end product design. The role partners with product and engineering to invent new interaction paradigms, prototype rapidly, and translate complex financial workflows into elegant user experiences.

Role
Airwallex is seeking a Staff Product Designer to design the next generation of AI-native, autonomous financial software. This role is primarily visual/UI (60%) with substantial UX responsibilities (40%), owning work from strategic concepts through high-fidelity execution and developer handoff. You will shape product design vision, culture, and principles for a new product within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the product design vision from initial sketch to live product
- Invent new interaction paradigms for AI agents and human supervision/steering
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering to explore, prototype, and iterate rapidly
- Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in Figma, Lovable, and other vibe-coding tools
- Translate complex financial workflows into approachable, usable experiences
- Contribute to product strategy, roadmap, and customer validation
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years’ experience as a product designer
- Proven track record building products from scratch (0→1) and working in ambiguous, fast-moving contexts
- Exceptional visual/UI craft with the ability to own end-to-end design work, from early concepts to polished UI and developer handoff
- Technically minded with experience or strong interest in AI, automation, or complex systems
- Strong collaboration skills; comfortable working side-by-side with engineers and product leads
- Experience across desktop web, mobile web, and native app experiences
Nice to Have
- Experience designing AI-native products, SaaS, or workflow automation products
- Background in fintech, finance operations, or tools for startups
