Staff UX Lead @ Google Gemini Connected Apps, Automation (Full-Time)

Role

Staff UX Lead on the Google Gemini Connected Apps team focused on moving AI from answers to actions by designing agentic, end-to-end experiences. The role owns interaction models for users delegating tasks to AI, combining personal context across services, and creating controls that maintain trust.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect agentic experiences and lead UX strategy for Connected Apps.
• Design low-friction, context-aware experiences that integrate Google products and third-party services.
• Obsess over user needs, performance, and product polish (visual, motion, and interaction design).
• Build rapid, testable prototypes to drive experimentation and hypothesis-driven learning.
• Design interfaces for probabilistic/non-deterministic AI systems that prioritize transparency, control, and trust.
• Use modern motion and prototyping tools and Vibe Coding tools to iterate on complex interactive experiences.
• Guide cross-functional teams (Engineering, PM, Research) through zero-to-one lifecycle execution.

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years of UX/UI design experience for complex, consumer-facing software across web, desktop, and mobile.
• Robust portfolio demonstrating visual, motion, and interaction design and end-to-end product thinking.
• High proficiency in modern design tools (Figma) and AI-assisted workflow/prototyping tools (e.g., Cursor, Antigravity, Claude Code).
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to act as a force multiplier guiding cross-functional teams.
• Strong systems thinking and the ability to design for probabilistic AI behavior while balancing data-driven and ethical design considerations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Entrepreneurial, self-starter mindset with high role fluidity and experience shipping zero-to-one ideas.
• Advanced prototyping skills using front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JS) or advanced Vibe Coding.
• Track record of translating radical AI concepts into transformative, user-centered products.
• Experience driving product impact through user research methods tailored to non-deterministic AI.
• Mentorship experience to raise craft across teams (non-managerial role).

Compensation

• This is an L6 level role with a salary range of approximately $189,000 USD - $280,000 USD (location-dependent).
