Role
Join Listen Labs as the first Strategic Finance & Business Operations hire. This foundational role splits time roughly 50/50 between strategic finance and project-based business operations, reporting to the Head of Finance and partnering closely with founders and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Finance (50%): build dashboards and reporting for revenue, burn, unit economics, and operating metrics; support fundraising and investor relations; prepare data-driven materials for strategic transactions (M&A, partnerships).
- Business Operations (50%): lead high-priority, ambiguous projects (pricing strategy, market analysis, new market entry, partnership evaluation, sales compensation design); build operational infrastructure, systems, workflows, and playbooks; partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering; drive procurement, vendor evaluation, and cost optimization; identify and resolve operational bottlenecks.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience with a strong foundation in investment banking, private equity, or consulting, plus experience at a high-growth technology company (Series A–D stage preferred).
- Deep financial modeling experience and strong proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
- SQL proficiency required; Python or BI tools are a plus. (Bonus: familiarity with vibe coding.)
- High agency, strong judgment and prioritization, ability to operate and make decisions in ambiguity, exceptional communication skills, and ownership of outcomes.
