Role
SSOE is seeking a Structural Designer to support Automotive, Manufacturing, and Facilities projects by producing structural models, drawings, and construction documentation for steel and concrete structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and modify 2D drawings and 3D structural models in accordance with BIM standards and company drafting practices.
- Produce construction documents and ensure dimensional accuracy; identify clashes and interferences within models.
- Coordinate with structural engineers and multi-disciplinary teams to incorporate project requirements.
- Support BIM coordination and clash detection using Navisworks and project collaboration tools.
- Gather information from drawings, specifications, sketches, and site visits to support design development and field documentation.
- Maintain project documentation and adhere to established CAD/BIM standards and procedures.
- Stay current with industry drafting practices and software technologies.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Diploma in Civil discipline, or Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, CAD/BIM Design Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in structural design, drafting, and modeling of steel and concrete structures using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Working knowledge of structural drawings, construction documentation, and BIM workflows.
- Familiarity with Model Building Codes and basic understanding of AISC, ACI, and other industry standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit Structure, Navisworks, and BIM 360. Familiarity with interoperability between Revit and structural analysis software (e.g., RISA).
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a team and manage assigned tasks independently, and strong English communication skills.
- Flexibility to work evening hours as needed to coordinate with U.S.-based teams.
