SSOE is hiring a Senior Structural Engineer to lead structural design and BIM deliverables for industrial, manufacturing, commercial, automotive, and institutional projects. The role focuses on developing and coordinating 2D drawings and 3D BIM models, performing clash detection and constructability reviews, and providing technical leadership across global project teams.

Role
Senior Structural Engineer responsible for planning and delivering structural design and BIM deliverables across industrial, manufacturing, automotive, commercial, and institutional projects. The role serves as a discipline BIM/design lead on assigned projects, providing technical leadership, mentoring junior designers, and coordinating with global project teams to meet scope, schedule, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan structural design and BIM deliverables and coordinate with global project teams.
- Develop and oversee preparation of 2D drawings and 3D BIM models for steel and reinforced concrete structures in accordance with BIM execution plans and LOD standards.
- Perform clash detection, constructability reviews, dimension verification, and interdisciplinary conflict resolution.
- Review engineering calculations, specifications, sketches, field information, and multidisciplinary inputs to ensure accurate, complete, and coordinated design deliverables.
- Coordinate closely with structural engineers, project managers, architects, and other disciplines to align on project scope and client expectations.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, training, and oversight to junior designers; support project planning and workload distribution.
- Oversee site visits and field verification to assess existing conditions and resolve design issues during construction phases.
- Participate in QA/QC reviews and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance with company and client standards.
- Support proposal development, project estimates, design planning, and client presentations as needed.
- Travel to project sites, client locations, and other offices for coordination, training, and reviews.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in CAD/BIM Design Technology, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a structural engineering role.
- Strong understanding of building codes and industry standards (AISC, ACI, etc.).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, Navisworks, MicroStation and related CAD/BIM tools.
- Experience with software interoperability and workflows between platforms such as Revit and RISA.
- Working knowledge of industrial, manufacturing, commercial, and institutional building projects and related structural design practices.
- Ability to develop, coordinate, and manage detailed 2D drawings and 3D BIM models ensuring quality and constructability.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with global teams; strong English proficiency.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility to work evening hours to coordinate with U.S.-based project teams when required.
