Explicitly focused on building the "vibe coding" ecosystem—designing infra and DX to let ideas move to production with minimal friction.

About the Role

Industrious is hiring a Tech Lead, DevOps Engineer to architect and lead the deployment ecosystem that enables fast, reliable delivery and developer productivity. Based in Montreal (hybrid), you will design a cloud-native stack (AWS), own infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, security and observability, and mentor engineers to enable company-wide 'vibe coding'.

Job Description

Role

Industrious is seeking a Tech Lead, DevOps Engineer to be the primary architect of the company’s deployment ecosystem. The role focuses on building a cloud-native, automated platform that enables fast, confident delivery and a high-quality developer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and build deployment solutions that are reliable, maintainable, and scalable.
  • Drive infrastructure-as-code practices and version-controlled infrastructure.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and orchestrate deployments into AWS.
  • Improve application monitoring, observability, and perform regular maintenance and upgrades.
  • Strengthen the security posture in collaboration with cyber-security teams.
  • Automate environment provisioning and testing to increase engineering velocity.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to a culture of transparency, learning, and high performance.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of DevOps experience with at least 2 years leading teams or major technical initiatives.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform and Terragrunt.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (experience with GCP is a bonus).
  • Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or comparable brokers).
  • Proven track record maintaining sophisticated CI/CD pipelines; GitHub Actions experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred; TypeScript/Node.js enthusiasm noted).
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to translate infrastructure concerns to product and dev teams.
  • Growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.

First-Year Roadmap

  • 0-30 days: Deep immersion in stack, architectural audit, identify friction points, draft long-term infrastructure vision.
  • 30-60 days: Improve developer experience (DX), overhaul monitoring, research and test foundational tools for “vibe coding.”
  • 60-90 days: Own Developer Experience and Monitoring initiatives, launch a pilot of the “vibe coding” solution, align with cyber-security.
  • End of year: Enable organization-wide “vibe coding,” implement predictive monitoring, and deliver a robust DX ecosystem.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary and bonus (no numeric ranges provided).
  • Heavily subsidized healthcare plans, generous paid time off, wellness programs.
