The role sits between Product, Engineering, and GTM Strategy and focuses on building reproducible demos, sample applications, and high-quality technical content.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and instrument small-scale bespoke applications to showcase New Relic features and OpenTelemetry integrations (examples: Python, Node, Go).
- Scale demos through automation and repository standards (public GitHub, “One-Line Install” standards) using tools like Docker Compose and AWS CloudFormation.
- Use AI-augmented development (e.g., Claude Code) to prototype application logic and simulate telemetry environments.
- Produce technical content such as demo scripts, videos, decks, ebooks, and whitepapers to enable global sales teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product management and product marketing to align artifacts with product messaging.
Requirements
- 2+ years in a technical role (such as Technical Marketing Manager, Solutions Architecture, or Developer Advocacy) with ownership of outcomes.
- Deep understanding of observability principles (metrics, events, logs, traces) and hands-on experience with platforms like New Relic, Datadog, or Dynatrace.
- Ability to read, write, and debug code; comfortable using LLMs and AI coding assistants to augment development.
- Practical, non-negotiable experience with containerization tools such as Docker and Docker Compose to ensure portable demos.
- Strong technical storytelling and the ability to translate technical features into compelling messages for practitioners and executives.
- Self-directed problem solving, resourcefulness, and the ability to work autonomously when documentation is limited.
Nice-to-Haves / Bonus
- Active contributions to open-source projects or a public GitHub portfolio.
- Strong collaboration skills and proactive learning attitude.
