The Technical Project Manager is responsible for driving delivery of complex technical projects from inception to completion within an Agile environment. The role balances strategic oversight and hands-on engagement, coordinates cross-functional teams, removes blockers, and ensures alignment between technical execution and business objectives. The position requires familiarity with data engineering concepts and emerging AI/ML approaches, including leveraging AI-driven tools and vibe coding for rapid prototyping.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and keep teams aligned and productive.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and risks.
- Maintain and prioritize product backlog to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical feasibility.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to clarify technical requirements and troubleshoot issues.
- Communicate project status, risks, and progress to stakeholders and senior leadership through reporting and presentations.
- Identify and remove blockers and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
- Leverage AI-driven tools and vibe coding sessions to accelerate problem-solving and innovation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience managing complex technical projects from initiation to delivery.
- Strong knowledge of data engineering and/or Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence concepts.
- Deep understanding of Scrum methodology, experience as a Scrum Master, and ability to coach teams on Agile best practices.
- Skilled in project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and MS Project.
- Solid grasp of data engineering concepts, including ETL processes, data pipelines, and relational databases.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical details into business language and present to senior leadership.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop solutions under tight deadlines.
- Preferred: experience implementing or integrating platforms such as Snowflake, Alteryx, and Tableau; exposure to AI-driven project management or automation tools.
