Brandeis University’s Rabb School of Continuing Studies seeks a Temporary Online Course Developer to design and build a three-credit asynchronous graduate course titled “AI for Human-Centered Design.” The developer will create Brandeis-compliant course materials, aligned assessments, and learning objects that integrate AI into user experience design practice, and will collaborate with Brandeis Online staff for LMS integration and review.
Course overview
AI for Human-Centered Design introduces how AI transforms UX practice, covering strategic prompt engineering, use of AI agents and vibe coding tools, designing and evaluating AI-enabled applications, and considerations for trust, transparency, and user control. Students will produce portfolio-ready work demonstrating readiness for AI-enabled design.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a Brandeis-compliant syllabus and instructor-created course materials informed by current industry knowledge.
- Create learning objects, applied assignments, and assessments aligned to course and program outcomes.
- Design substantive content and pedagogical strategies that meet graduate-level rigor and accreditation expectations.
- Collaborate with Brandeis Online staff and Learning Designers, submit drafts at designated milestones, and adhere to technical LMS requirements.
- Ensure materials are accessible, learner-centered, and aligned with workforce relevance.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Human Factors, HCI, User Experience, or related discipline.
- Current, active employment in Human Factors, HCI, User Experience, or related fields.
- 5+ years of professional experience in UX or related disciplines.
- Applied experience designing AI agents and/or AI-enabled software.
- Applied knowledge of AI design and prototyping tools, including Figma Make.
- Applied knowledge of generative AI tools for user experience research and strategic prompt engineering.
- Basic Vibe coding proficiency.
- At least 1 year of teaching or training experience (preferably online/asynchronous).
- Minimum 1 year experience developing asynchronous online courses for adult learners in higher education.
- Proficiency with LMS platforms and digital authoring tools.
- Strong communication, organization, independent work, writing, and editing skills.
- Familiarity with curriculum design, accreditation standards, and graduate-level rigor.
Preferred Experience
- Experience teaching or developing graduate-level online courses.
- Knowledge of global learner personas and culturally responsive pedagogy.
- Familiarity with Moodle LMS and digital authoring tools (e.g., H5P).
- Familiarity with experiential learning models and employer-aligned curriculum.
