UX Designer, AWS Applied AI Solutions

Role

We are looking for a UX Designer to own end-to-end design for AI-native business applications. The role focuses on translating complex AI capabilities into clear, usable, and trustworthy experiences, creating interactive prototypes, and working closely with product, engineering, and applied science to deliver high-quality customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end design of features and customer journeys, from discovery through delivery.
• Translate AI capabilities into clear, intuitive interaction flows that build user confidence and trust.
• Leverage AI-assisted design tools and rapid prototyping workflows (including vibe coding approaches) to accelerate exploration and validation.
• Create interactive prototypes or lightweight working experiences to test ideas early with customers and partners.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and applied scientists to define requirements and deliver high-quality experiences.
• Contribute to reusable design patterns, interaction models, and documentation for consistency and scalability.
• Validate concepts through research, usability testing, experimentation, and data analysis.
• Apply systems thinking to ensure designs fit cohesively within the broader product ecosystem.
• Present design rationale to cross-functional partners and incorporate feedback efficiently.

Basic Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience delivering design solutions as a UX or interaction designer.
• Online portfolio or work samples demonstrating end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns across desktop and mobile.
• Visual design expertise with the ability to produce simple, elegant, and highly usable layouts, interactions, and iconography.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and defining requirements.
• Experience using data and metrics to draw business insights.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts and processes using clear language and visuals.
• Comfortable using AI-powered design and prototyping tools to increase speed and quality of execution.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced, high-tech environments or start-up-like settings.
• Experience designing AI-powered or intelligent systems and designing for trust, transparency, and human-in-the-loop systems.
• Experience with rapid prototyping approaches, including code-based or AI-assisted prototyping (e.g., vibe coding environments).
• Experience contributing to design systems and reusable component libraries.

The role sits on AWS Applied AI Solutions, a team focused on building opinionated, turnkey AI-driven business applications used by companies to manage operations. The team emphasizes practical, buy-over-build solutions that are intuitive and scalable.

Compensation & Location

• Location: USA, WA, Seattle
• Base salary range listed: 117,800.00 - 160,000.00 USD annually
• Package may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
