UX Designer (Design Systems) - Fire TV/Tablet , Devices and Services Design Team

Role

We are seeking a UX Designer with deep design systems expertise to support Fire TV and Fire Tablet experiences and to design B2B/enterprise and developer-facing workflows and tools. The role is hybrid and splits time between building component libraries, guidelines, and documentation and designing complex enterprise workflows and service experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Design Systems (60-70% of role)

• Build Fire TV/Tablet-specific components and patterns (10-foot UI browsing, remote navigation, multi-window layouts).
• Document use cases and micro-interaction differences across devices (D-pad navigation, touch, voice shortcuts).
• Create Fire TV Human Interface Guidelines covering 10-foot UI patterns, remote navigation, and voice-first interactions.
• Produce third-party developer documentation to enable self-service support and adoption.
• Consult with ~18 designers on component usage, governance, and best practices.
• Build AI-powered Figma plugins to enforce standards and accelerate operations.

Product Design — B2B / Enterprise / Developer Tools (30-40% of role)

• Design enterprise workflows (account management, team collaboration, provisioning).
• Create marketing and developer tools experiences (dashboards, reporting, analytics).
• Design multi-touchpoint service experiences for various user types.
• Conduct user research and translate insights into workflow improvements and complex information architectures.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers on feature prioritization and implementation.

Team

Part of the Devices & Services Experience Design team working across Amazon devices (Fire TV, Fire Tablets, Echo family, Alexa app). The team partners with product, engineering, and research to craft hardware and software experiences.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• Experience delivering design solutions as a UX or interaction designer.
• Available online portfolio.
• Knowledge of a front-end language (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, etc.).
• Experience building component libraries (Figma) and producing Human Interface Guidelines and developer documentation.
• Expertise in Figma (components, variants, auto-layout, design tokens).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mass-market consumer web/mobile products.
• Proven collaboration with developers on implementation.
• Experience with AI tooling, Vibe coding, Figma plugins, and AI automation.
• Experience designing developer tools, analytics dashboards, or marketing platforms.
• JavaScript/TypeScript skills for building Figma plugins.
• Experience with component migration, design system governance, design ops, or workflow automation.
