Role
DeepMind is seeking a UX Engineer on a 12-month fixed-term contract to drive technical strategy and execution for AI user experiences. You will collaborate with UX designers, researchers, product managers, and software engineers to prototype, implement, and validate front-end interfaces for AI products across screens and devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject-matter expert, establishing best practices and embracing emerging web and AI standards.
- Act as a cross-functional liaison to align UX, research, product, and engineering teams on technical and design outcomes.
- Architect and implement versatile front-end solutions to address high-complexity problems and research questions.
- Write production code and deliver significant portions of projects, ensuring engineering and design goals meet user needs.
- Lead creation of high-fidelity prototypes to support user studies and decision-making throughout the development cycle.
Requirements
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum: 6 years of experience in front-end development, technical UX design, or prototyping.
- Experience in application development on platforms such as web, iOS, Android, CompDes, or XR.
- Familiarity with fundamental web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and web standards.
- Preferred: Experience with modern JS/ES6, HTML5, CSS, REST and frameworks such as React, Lit, or Angular.
- Preferred: Experience leading UI design and implementation and building technical frameworks.
- Preferred: Experience with vibe coding approaches and toolkits and an understanding of prompt engineering best practices.
- Preferred: Understanding of how to apply AI to accelerate UX and engineering workflows.
