Job Description
Role
Microsoft’s AI ERP design studio is hiring a UX Engineer to work at the intersection of AI, UX, and engineering for Dynamics 365. You will build systems, tools, and workflows that enable designers to experiment with AI models, support design-authored pull requests, and ship production-quality AI experiences. The role includes hands-on development of complex UI components and shaping workflows used by dozens of UX designers.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with designers across the AI ERP design studio to define requirements for tools and processes.
- Build tooling that simplifies designing and “vibe-coding” in Figma and enables vibe-coding and creating pull requests in VS Code.
- Create design-focused AI frameworks and evaluation toolkits to support design workflows.
- Upskill designers to maximize the value of AI chat and vibe-coding workflows.
- Maintain current guidance on model capabilities and limitations for design teams.
- Implement particularly complex UI components and contribute production-quality code.
- Stay current on AI and tooling developments to improve efficiency and confidence in tools and products.
Requirements
Required
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field and 3+ years of product/service design and/or shipping production code; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in the fields above and 4+ years of product/service design and/or shipping production code; OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of proven experience designing and implementing user experiences for shipped products, with strong software and design skills in design patterns and scalable design systems.
- Track record of delivering AI-powered products and a clear understanding of LLMs and agent systems (prompting, tool usage, memory, retries).
- Experience working in fast-moving product teams and shipping products iteratively.
- Ability to meet Microsoft and customer security screening requirements (Microsoft Cloud background check required upon hire and periodically).
Preferred
- Experience enabling other builders/designers through frameworks, tooling, or abstractions.
- Comfortable building tools or platforms that enable non-engineers to code or experiment.
- Strong collaboration experience with UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers.
- Experience with CI/CD, pull request workflows, and production code quality best practices.
