UX Engineering Manager, Search

Role

Lead a team of UX Engineers on Google Search to define product strategy, envision complex UX ecosystems, and deliver engaging, production-ready prototypes and front-end solutions that address human and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of UX Engineers to implement front-end solutions for web and iOS.
• Explore product concepts and identify directions that balance human needs and business goals.
• Collaborate with UX designers and researchers to synthesize feedback and inform design and engineering decisions.
• Deliver engaging prototypes using modern front-end technologies and drive implementation across production environments.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in iOS development (Swift), technical UX design, and prototyping.
• 3 years of experience managing people or teams.
• Experience with vibe coding tools, including AI Studio, Cursor, Antigravity, or Firebase Studio.

Preferred qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in a technical, UX, or design environment.
• Familiarity working across full tech stacks and production environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, project management, and organizational skills.

Locations & Compensation

• Preferred work locations: San Francisco, CA; Mountain View, CA; New York, NY.
• US base salary range (full-time): $178,000 - $265,000 (base only). Position also includes bonus, equity, and additional benefits.
