Job Description
Role
Gamma seeks its first UX Researcher to deepen understanding of how people use AI-powered creation tools across segments (teachers, solopreneurs, enterprise). This role owns recruitment for specialized users, designs studies for non-deterministic AI outputs, and establishes research operations to raise the design team’s practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute research across core product, AI, and growth priorities
- Recruit and build relationships with hard-to-reach user segments, especially B2B/enterprise users
- Design and run studies that investigate non-deterministic AI outputs and user expectations
- Work embedded with designers and product managers to rapidly translate insights into product iterations
- Establish research operations, pipelines, and best practices to level up the design team
Requirements
- 4+ years of UX research experience with generative and evaluative methods
- Strong skills in user interviews, usability testing, surveys, and contextual inquiry
- Proven ability to recruit specialized and harder-to-reach professional or enterprise participants
- Experience researching AI/ML products or demonstrated ability to learn and study non-deterministic systems and generative outputs
- Design fluency (sketching, wireframing, mockups) and comfort using SQL to answer data-driven questions
- Startup execution mindset and ability to operate in ambiguity and move from research to actionable insights quickly
Compensation
- Base salary range: $160,000 - $260,000 USD plus benefits and equity
Workplace
- Strong in-office culture: team works in person 4–5 days per week in San Francisco, with flexibility to work from home when needed.
