Join LIGER as a UX Researcher & Prototyper to lead user research and build rapid AI-powered prototypes that validate design direction for government-facing LLM tools. Collaborate closely in a product trio (PM, designer, engineering) to translate stakeholder input into actionable design and analytics-driven product decisions.
Job Description
Role
You’ll be the research and rapid prototyping arm of a product trio for LIGER, an AI platform that helps government analysts work with large language models. Own user research for LIGER 2.0 and build functional prototypes with AI-powered coding tools to validate concepts before committing design resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Own user research and translate findings into actionable design direction
- Build rapid prototypes using Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, or Replit that feed into Figma
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, run baseline surveys, and synthesize feedback to prioritize features
- Create and maintain user personas, journey maps, and opportunity frameworks
- Coordinate user testing at release milestones and feed findings back into the product cycle
- Own product analytics and usage dashboards to validate design decisions with data
- Work directly with the PM, designer, and engineering team in fast, iterative cycles
Requirements
- 2+ years of UX research experience, or a strong portfolio demonstrating research and prototyping work
- Demonstrated experience with at least one AI-powered coding/prototyping tool (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Replit, or similar)
- Experience with user interviews, usability testing, and survey design
- Ability to translate research findings into tangible prototypes, not just presentations or decks
- Strong communication skills; able to present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders without heavy ceremony
- Comfortable with ambiguity and fast iteration in environments where requirements evolve
Nice-to-have
- Experience with continuous discovery practices (Teresa Torres framework or similar)
- Background in analytics tools and product metrics
- Experience working in a product trio model
- Familiarity with Figma and design systems
- Experience with government or enterprise users
Work Arrangement
- 100% remote role with quarterly travel for in-person team planning and collaboration events.
