Role
A Day Back is hiring a Founding Engineer / Junior AI Developer (Vibe Coder) to design, build, and improve AI agents and automations that save time for service businesses. This is the company’s first technical hire and involves hands-on work with clients, integrations, and internal systems. The position is full-time and requires on-site work in South Jordan / Salt Lake City, Utah.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, configure, and improve AI agents that automate repetitive tasks.
- Connect client software, CRMs, and business tools via APIs and automation.
- Attend in-person client setups (typically ~2 hours for initial appointments) and perform client visits.
- Diagnose issues, test solutions, and ensure automations continue to work after demos.
- Explain solutions in plain English and support client adoption through shadowing and eventually leading training sessions and webinars.
- Work deeply with the company’s CRM and internal tools to improve workflows.
- Document work and handle client data, credentials, and access responsibly.
- Help shape and build the long-term product roadmap.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience experimenting with AI coding tools and AI agents (experience with Grok Bot, Claw, OpenClaw, or similar is a plus).
- A coding foundation sufficient to read, troubleshoot, and improve AI-generated code (1 year coding experience required; 1 year vibe coding preferred).
- Familiarity with APIs, integrations, and workflow automation and a willingness to learn unfamiliar systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience troubleshooting production issues.
- Clear verbal and written communication; confidence interacting with clients by phone, video, and in person.
- Creativity, initiative, and follow-through to take ideas from prototype to production.
- Comfort working in a startup environment with shifting priorities and multiple responsibilities.
- Availability for full-time, on-site work in the South Jordan / Salt Lake City area.

- Salary: $60,000–$100,000 per year.
