From the registry: A command line tool for setting up PayPal MCP server
Please install the `paypal-mcp-server` MCP server into my current AI client (that's you).
Required prerequisites (do these first if not already done):
- **Node.js 18+** — Node.js runtime required (https://nodejs.org/)
- **PayPal Access Token** — Generate via OAuth2 using Client ID and Client Secret from PayPal Developer Dashboard (https://developer.paypal.com/dashboard/)
Canonical MCP server config (stdio transport):
- command: `npx`
- args: ["-y","@paypal/mcp","--tools=all"]
- required environment variables:
- `PAYPAL_ACCESS_TOKEN`: Your PayPal OAuth2 access token (example: `<your-paypal-access-token>`)
- optional environment variables:
- `PAYPAL_ENVIRONMENT`: SANDBOX for testing, PRODUCTION for live (example: `SANDBOX`)
Note: Access tokens expire (3-8 hours for sandbox, 8 hours for production). Implement token refresh logic. Official PayPal MCP server.
Add this MCP server to my current client's config in the correct format for you. If you need secrets or credentials I haven't provided, ASK me — do not invent values or leave raw placeholders. After adding it, tell me how to verify the server is connected.PAYPAL_ACCESS_TOKENrequiredYour PayPal access token used to authenticate requests to PayPal APIsPAYPAL_ENVIRONMENTrequiredSets the PayPal environment to SANDBOX or PRODUCTIONOpen-source SEC EDGAR toolkit — 11 tools, 7 prompts, every filing type.
